The majority of the Wind Mitigation inspection takes place in the attic. This is where we determine, and photograph the roof underlayment, roof deck attachment, and roof to wall attachment. We will also walk the exterior and take pictures of all 4 sides of the home. If impact rated doors and windows are present we will need to photograph windows and doors from the inside and photograph any labels attached to confirm ratings. Additional documentation is typically needed to satisfy underwriters requirements. We will use the ASCE hazard tool to determine wind region, and do a basic online permit search to determine roof age / roof permit date along with build date permit for the home.
